Rocking the Big Apple!

On June 20, 1821 hosted its second Black and Brown Founders event, uniting fifty dynamic founders from a wide array of sectors, including technology, food and beverage, consulting, fintech, and more. This diverse representation underscored the breadth and depth of our community. The event also featured a thought-provoking discussion on the state of DEI, moderated by Ellen McGirt, Editor-in-Chief at Design Observer, alongside Genhi Givings Bailey (she/her/hers) and Emily Davila.

The session was followed by truly inspiring entrepreneur journey stories from Alyse (Uh-lease) Nicole Dunn, Robbie Felton, and Lisa Yancey (she/her), who shared their captivating experiences and insights on entrepreneurship. Their riveting stories, filled with both challenges and triumphs, serve as a powerful reminder of the potential within each of us to overcome obstacles and achieve success.

In line with our tradition, just like our first event in San Francisco on February 29, 2024, talented Black and Brown entrepreneurs provided the food and beverages. We are thrilled about the momentum and eagerly look forward to our next event in LA. Stay tuned for more updates, and join us for another inspiring gathering!

And BIG thanks to our sponsors and hosts, Perkins Coie LLP (Yashreeka Huq and Ronald Sarubbi), Mercury (Ben Kromnick), and our supporter, AlchemistX (Ian Bergman).
